Since entering the accounting profession after my graduation, I have come to realise that it is not easy to deliver consistently great work for clients without excellent supporting systems, commonly known as “quality management systems” (QMSs). At Tailored Accounts, QMSs consists of two major components; internal control systems and skilled staff.

I am in charge of Tailored Accounts’ internal control systems, which are updated regularly based on new policies and changes in the accounting environment. Tailored Accounts takes pride and confidence that we deliver excellent quality work and we maintain this “excellent and consistent quality” approach to every client.

Another key aspect of QMS is cultivating skilled staff. At Tailored Accounts, we require every staff to have a set continuous professional development (CPD) hours. Tailored Accounts organises monthly training both internally and externally. I enjoy learning new skills and knowledge as well as sharing my experience.

I am proud to say that I believe Tailored Accounts has one of the best QMSs in place at this moment, and I will make sure this will be the case in the future. These systems help ensure that our services and results delivered to customers are one of the best in the industry.

Russell Hearne - Team Member

I was employed by or contracted to the Australian and ACT Governments from 1980 to 2018, working in 13 departments and agencies. I specialised in performance (value for money audits) of public sector agencies. In addition to audit, I worked in branch banking, grants administration, personnel, finance management, secretariat, insolvency, corporate fundraising and registration of auditors, advisors and liquidators. I have qualifications in industrial relations, accounting, information technology and bookkeeping. I am a fellow of CPA Australia (retired) and the Australian Bookkeepers Network.

Bryan Nguyen - Team Member

Gerard Lillicrap - Team Member

I worked in the Federal Government for 22 years, primarily in accounting roles, including internal and external audit. Moved into the private sector in 1997, initially as CFO / CIO for an innovative printing company and then into a social welfare organisation, which included two years as a Program Director delivering counselling and refugee resettlement services.

I have been a member and then Chair of the ACIAR Audit Committee; a company Director for the Institute of Internal Auditors Australia; Chair of the Finance Committee and Board Member for John 23rd College ANU.

I have a BA (Accounting), Graduate Certificate in Computing Studies and a Post-graduate Certificate in Human Services (Leadership).

I am an FCPA, previous President of the ACT Branch and current SME&C Committee member. I have completed the Company Director’s course and am a Graduate Member (GAICD).

Brenda Lam - Team Member

Brenda has a Bachelor Degree in Business and a Master Degree in Accounting in Australia. She started her professional career as a Counter Manager in L’Oreal Australia in Sydney. After that, she had an opportunity to enhance her professionalism in Christian Dior, a subsidiary of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton before moving to Canberra. In Canberra, Brenda worked for Telstra before she finally found her true career as being an Assistant Accountant in Tailored Accounts Canberra.

Sergio Castro - Team Member

I am a Bookkeeper with more than 10 years of accounting related experience, and with a proven track record of success providing administrative support to all levels of management. Highly skilled in performing A/P, A/R, billing, financial reconciliations and payroll tasks, managing budgets and preparing administrative reports. Highly organised and technically proficient in many ranges of computer software including MYOB and Xero.

Sarah Luo - Team Member
